The Mason Punchers will head out on the road to face off against the Johnson City Eagles at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Mason is looking to tack on another W to their five-game streak on the road dating back to last season.
Mason's 16-5 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 49-28 walloping at the hands of McCamey last Saturday.
Meanwhile, Johnson City scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They put the hurt on Lometa with a sharp 66-42 victory. With Johnson City ahead 43-18 at the half, the match was all but over already.
Johnson City got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Kp Coble out in front who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 18 rebounds. Those 16 points set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Walker Jackson, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds.
Mason's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Johnson City, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-6.
Mason strolled past Johnson City in their previous matchup back in January by a score of 52-37. Does Mason have another victory up their sleeve, or will Johnson City turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
