The New Holstein Huskies are taking a road trip to take on the Valders Vikings at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. New Holstein will be strutting in after a victory while Valders will be coming in after a loss.
New Holstein is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past Roncalli 17-2 on Monday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.
Parker Ziebell made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one RBI.
New Holstein kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in April of 2025.
Meanwhile, Valders came up short against Manitowoc Lutheran on Monday and fell 9-6.
Carter Valleskey was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. Austin Ebert was another key player, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs and one double.
The victory made it two in a row for New Holstein and bumps their season record up to 8-4. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 4 runs in those games. As for Valders, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-7.
New Holstein's speedy runners might be the difference in Tuesday's matchup. The Huskies have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.1 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Valders, though, as they've been averaging only 0.9 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will New Holstein continue to outrun the ball?
New Holstein skirted past Valders 5-3 when the teams last played back in April of 2025. Will the Huskies repeat their success, or do the Vikings have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
