West Lafayette lost against Benton Central in their previous head to head back in December of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 50-47 score last time.
Despite the loss, West Lafayette had strong showings from Adrianne Tolen, who scored 18 points along with 8 rebounds and 3 steals, and Vivian Huston, who scored 16 points along with 6 rebounds and 3 steals. The match was Tolen's 14th in a row with at least ten points.
West Lafayette's defeat dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Benton Central, they have yet to lose a contest at home this season, leaving them with a 6-2 record.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. West Lafayette will square off against North Montgomery at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. North Montgomery will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings (they are ranked 232nd, while West Lafayette is ranked 114th). As for Benton Central, they will head out on the road to face off against Northwestern at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday.
