While losing is never fun, Basalt can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage  in MaxPreps' Colorado soccer rankings (they are ranked 147th, while Steamboat Springs are ranked 29th).
 Coal Ridge is  on a roll lately: they've  won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-3-1 record  this season. Those  victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as  they  scored 33  goals over those nine  matchups. As for Basalt, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-7-2.
