The Montclair Mounties will be playing in front of their home fans against the Millburn Millers at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Montclair has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
Montclair scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Monday. They took down Central 81-63. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Meanwhile, Millburn pushed their score all the way to 64 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 72-64 hit to the loss column at the hands of Cranford. It was the first time this season that Millburn let down their fans at home.
Despite the defeat, Millburn saw an underclassman step up: Chase Plotkin went 7 for 12 from beyond the arc en route to 33 points and 1 assist. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Plotkin has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Chace Redler, who scored 15 points along with two steals.
Montclair's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-5. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 21.33 points. As for Millburn, their loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-3.
Montclair came up short against Millburn in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, falling 62-51.
