The Nacogdoches Dragons scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Center 76-47 at home. Considering Nacogdoches has won six contests by more than 21 points this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Center's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jimmarion (Ja) Smith, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 14 rebounds. Smith also posted two blocks for the first time this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Tim Johnson, who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds.
Nacogdoches now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Center, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-5.
Nacogdoches will be home for the holidays to greet Sulphur Springs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Sulphur Springs will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 863rd, while Nacogdoches is ranked 384th). Center is on the road again on Friday and play against Tyler at 7:00 p.m. on December 15th.
