While losing is never fun, West Boca Raton can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 387th, while American Heritage is ranked 49th).
American Heritage was led to victory by Xander Gerard and Brendan Gerard. Gerard scored 17 points along with 4 steals, while Gerard scored 22 points along with 5 rebounds and 4 steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Gerard has scored at least 25% of American Heritage's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Louis Corsa, who scored 4 points along with 11 rebounds.
This is the second loss in a row for West Boca Raton and nudges their season record down to 1-4. As for American Heritage, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-0.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. West Boca Raton will take on Somerset Academy - Canyons at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for American Heritage, they will be playing at home against Trinity Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Trinity Christian Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Tuesday.
