The Durand Railroaders had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 27.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They took down Fowlerville 76-58. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Markell Tate was his usual excellent self, scoring 16 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. Tate is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Brayden Kelley, who scored 12 points along with five assists and five rebounds.
Durand pushed their record up to 8-3 with that victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.2 points per game. As for Fowlerville, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-7.
Durand will head out on the road to face off against Chesaning at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Chesaning is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling. As for Fowlerville, they will be playing in front of their home fans against St. Johns at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
