The Spring Hill Raiders managed to keep up with the Shelbyville Central Golden Eagles until halftime on Thursday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Spring Hill's rough 46-23 defeat to the Golden Eagles might stick with them for a while. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Spring Hill has scored all season.
Spring Hill's loss came despite strong showings from Jeycelyn Brashear and Meme Goodman. Brashear scored 11 points along with five rebounds and five blocks, while Goodman scored three points along with 12 rebounds and two blocks. Brashear is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as she's now posted two or more in the last 19 games she's played.
Spring Hill are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-13. The slump could be explained by some tough opposition over that stretch, namely Shelbyville Central, Lincoln County, and Columbia Central. As for Shelbyville Central, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-8.
Spring Hill won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against the Lions at 6:00 p.m. on February 2nd. Columbia Central presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Raiders in Tennessee (the Lions are ranked 35th, while the Raiders are ranked 188th). As for Shelbyville Central, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against the Falcons at 6:00 p.m. on February 2nd. Lincoln County is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
