Baseball Recap: Thursday's Win Is Seminole's Eighth in Last Nine Outings

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Seminole walked away with it. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Osceola Warriors a 10-0 shutout on Thursday. The result was nothing new for the Warhawks, who have now won 11 matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Mack McGinnis made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two RBI and one run.

In other batting news, Austin Duffy was excellent, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Patrick Mazzei also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Seminole always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .640. The last time their OBP was this high was back in March of 2024.

Seminole has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Osceola, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 15-11.

As of now, neither Seminole nor the Warriors have any future games scheduled.
