The Gaffney Indians are taking a road trip to take on the James F. Byrnes Rebels at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Gaffney's pitching crew has only allowed 2.3 runs per game this season, so James F. Byrnes' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Gaffney will head out to face James F. Byrnes after giving up their first home loss of the season on Friday. Gaffney fell just short of Wade Hampton by a score of 4-2. The Indians have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Jace Bradbury was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in hits. The team also got some help courtesy of Braden Beattie, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask James F. Byrnes). They were the clear victor by a 13-2 margin over Spartanburg on Friday. With that victory, the Rebels brought their scoring average up to 6.1 runs per game.
Jaxson Camp was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. Camp was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one home run and two runs. That home run marked the first that he launched this season.
In other batting news, Harrison Keels was incredible, going 2-for-3 with five RBI, one triple, and one run. Another player making a difference was Jake Moss, who went 3-for-4 with three runs and one triple.
James F. Byrnes always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .515. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
The loss was their first at home , dropping their record down to 4-3. As for James F. Byrnes, their win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 4-3.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Monday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Gaffney has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.1 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like James F. Byrnes struggles in that department as they've been averaging 9.3 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Gaffney beat James F. Byrnes 13-8 in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Will Gaffney repeat their success, or does James F. Byrnes have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
