First Colonial kept a clean sheet against Deep Run on Wednesday. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Wildcats. Give First Colonial's defense some credit: that's the team's fourth straight shutout.

Sam Hosang and Chris Merrill scored both of First Colonial's goals, bringing their combined season tally to eight goals.

First Colonial pushed their record up to 7-3-1 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those three matches. As for Deep Run, their loss dropped their record down to 3-5-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. First Colonial will challenge Kempsville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Deep Run, they will square off against Freeman at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Freeman will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Deep Run surely won't give up without a fight.
