Rickover Naval had lost five straight on the road, but on Thursday they dropped their record down to 4-6 to make it six. They fell 13-9 to the Senn Bulldogs. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 21-4 two weeks ago.

Samantha Booth was huge no matter where she played even without the win. On the mound, she struck out six batters over 5.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and five unearned) runs off nine hits. Booth was even better at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three stolen bases, and six RBI. She has been hot, having posted two or more stolen bases the last five times she's played.
In other batting news, Soleil Gonzales made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and got on base in three of her five plate appearances with three stolen bases and four runs.
As for Senn, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 8-1. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 11.5 runs.
Like Rickover Naval, Senn also got a great game from a two-way player: Audrey Lebovitz. She struck out 16 batters over 5.2 innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits. Lebovitz was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI.
In other batting news, Pippa Gerharz was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two doubles. Ericka Ako was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.
We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Rickover Naval is set to square off against their familiar foe Lake View at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Senn will take on rival Von Steuben at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
