The Zane Trace Pioneers will head out to challenge the Adena Warriors at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. Zane Trace will be strutting in after a victory while Adena will be coming in after a defeat.
Zane Trace came out on top against Valley on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run second inning. The Pioneers were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Indians. The high-scoring effort was just what the Pioneers needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.

Maddison Will was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in strikeouts (four). She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.
In other batting news, Haylynn Boggess-Pierce was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March. Grace Lyon was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.
Zane Trace was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Adena was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-4 heartbreaker at the hands of Westfall. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
Like Zane Trace, Adena also got a great game from a two-way player: Allie Bossert. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run over six innings pitched. Bossert was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two RBI and one run.
Bossert wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Marly Halcomb, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI. Jolyn Jett also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
Zane Trace's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-10. As for Adena, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-6.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Zane Trace has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.8 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Adena struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.5 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Zane Trace came out on top in a nail-biter against Adena when the teams last played on April 7th, sneaking past 2-1. Do the Pioneers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Warriors turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
