After a string of three wins, the North Raleigh Christian Academy Knights's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a 53-42 hit to the loss column at the hands of Ravenscroft. North Raleigh Christian Academy was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Ravens apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January.
Ravenscroft got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Ellie Cronin out in front who dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten rebounds. Cronin is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 15 or more in the last five games she's played. Another player making a difference was Zoe Adams, who scored 17 points along with two steals.
North Raleigh Christian Academy now has a losing record at 13-14. As for Ravenscroft, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a massive bump to their 16-8 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. North Raleigh Christian Academy won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against the Fighting Pharaohs on February 3rd. Quality Education Academy presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Knights in North Carolina (the Fighting Pharaohs are ranked 36th, while the Knights are ranked 143rd). As for Ravenscroft, they will head out on the road to square off against the Chargers at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Cary Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 23 on Friday.
