Wilber-Clatonia is 0-8 against the Mustangs since February of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Wilber-Clatonia Wolverines are on the road again and plays the Sutton Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. on February 6th. Wilber-Clatonia will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Nebraska Rankings (they are ranked 234th, while the Mustangs are ranked 78th).
Wilber-Clatonia fought the good fight in their overtime contest against the Cougars on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell 48-40 to the Cougars.
Meanwhile, Sutton also suffered a loss in their last game, but this one to the Titans by a score of 40-30.
Wilber-Clatonia has not been sharp recently as the team's lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-15 record this season. As for Sutton, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-7.
Things could have been worse for Wilber-Clatonia, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 37-19 loss to the Mustangs when the teams last played back in February of 2023. Can Wilber-Clatonia avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
