The Flanagan-Cornell Falcons's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They lost to Heyworth at home by a decisive 57-42 margin. Flanagan-Cornell has not had much luck with Heyworth recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Despite the loss, Flanagan-Cornell still got an impressive performance from Kesler Collins, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 20 rebounds. Collins has been hot recently, having posted two or more blocks the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Seth Jones, who scored seven points along with six rebounds.
Flanagan-Cornell's loss dropped their record down to 14-8. As for Heyworth, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 12-10.
Flanagan-Cornell won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Herscher at 6:30 p.m. on January 27th. Herscher is no doubt hoping to put an end to a ten-game streak of away losses. As for Heyworth, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Tremont at 5:30 p.m. Tremont has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
