Blue Ridge is 0-10 against Snowflake since April of 2021 but things could change on Tuesday. The Yellow Jackets will look to defend their home field against the Lobos at 3:45 p.m.
Blue Ridge is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 18 runs on Friday, they were much more limited against Safford on Saturday. They lost 9-1 to the Bulldogs.
Blue Ridge saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Korti Martinez, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one double.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Snowflake, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They won by a run and slipped past Show Low 5-4. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
Kashlynn Cantrell spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on ten hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Addie Coor was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one double, and one RBI. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Riley Perkins was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one run and one RBI.
The victory got Snowflake back to even at 8-8. As for Blue Ridge, their loss dropped their record down to 6-6.
Tuesday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Blue Ridge hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .402. However, it's not like Snowflake struggles in that department as they've averaged .365. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Blue Ridge might still be hurting after the 11-3 defeat they got from Snowflake when the teams last played back in April of 2025. Can the Yellow Jackets avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
