Barker is 0-10 against Albion since April of 2019 but things could change on Monday. The Bulldogs will challenge the Purple Eagles at 4:45 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.
Barker had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the six-run drubbing they dealt Newfane on Thursday. The Bulldogs never let the Panthers get on the board and left with a 6-0 victory. The matchup marked the Bulldogs' most dominant win of the season so far.

04/24/25 @ Newfane | 1 |
The result came thanks to Jackson Prynn's shutout, as he gave up just a hit and racked up 11 Ks. He is becoming a predictor of Barker's success: when he allows at most three hits the team is undefeated (and 0-6 when he doesn't).
On the hitting side, Barker's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Isaac Monaco, who went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Tristen Garcia also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Albion). Everything went their way against Newfane on Saturday as they made off with a 13-1 win. The game was the first time the Purple Eagles have beaten the Panthers on their field since May 9, 2022.
Nathan Gibson made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 13 over five innings pitched. Those 13 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple.
In other batting news, Elliott Trapiss was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Kaiden Froman, who went 1-for-4 with three runs, two RBI, and one double.
Albion's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-5. As for Barker, their win ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-6.
Barker might still be hurting after the 14-2 defeat they got from Albion in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can the Bulldogs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
