Softball Recap: Poyen Wins Going Away Against Mount Ida

Poyen won the last time they faced Mount Ida and things went their way on Friday too. The Indians put the hurt on the Lions with a sharp 13-3 victory. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Indians' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

Jadyn Warrick made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over five innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits (and only one walk). Warrick was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

In other batting news, Poyen got a massive performance out of Ella Moore, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Macy Riley, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base.

Poyen's record is now 4-10. As for Mount Ida, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-9.

Poyen will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Carlisle at 4:30 p.m. on May 5. Mount Ida does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
