Johnson has been on the road for three straight, but on Tuesday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Savannah Christian Raiders at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Johnson is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Savannah Christian in Georgia (Johnson is ranked 132nd, while Savannah Christian is ranked 321st).
Last Saturday, Johnson came up short against Savannah Country Day and fell 62-54.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Joshua Quarterman, who scored 21 points along with three steals. He is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Favion Kirkwood, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds.
Meanwhile, it may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Savannah Christian ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They managed a 46-41 victory over Calvary Day. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Savannah Christian.
Johnson has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-8 record this season. As for Savannah Christian, their victory bumped their record up to an identical 10-8.
Everything went Johnson's way against Savannah Christian in their previous matchup back in December of 2023 as Johnson made off with a 52-32 victory. Will Johnson repeat their success, or does Savannah Christian have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
