On Wednesday, the Panguitch Bobcats faced the Kanab Cowboys in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Panguitch managed a 60-55 victory over Kanab. Panguitch's victory was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Panguitch to victory, but perhaps none more so than Justin Osburn, who scored 21 points along with 5 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Cache Eyre, who scored 17 points along with 8 rebounds.
Kanab's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cash Mortensen, who scored 19 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kale Glover, who scored 12 points.
Panguitch's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Kanab, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Panguitch will take on Emery at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Allowing an average of 50 points per game, Emery has struggled on the defensive end, but that doesn't have to be the case in this match. As for Kanab, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Duchesne at 11:30 a.m. on Friday.
