Crawfordsville is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They blew past Frankfort, posting a 49-12 win. The victory continues a trend for the Athenians in their matchups with the Hot Dogs: they've now won five in a row.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Crawfordsville to victory, but perhaps none more so than Mason McCarty, who threw for 97 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 83.3% of his passes, and also punched in one touchdown on the ground. McCarty's passing game has become a key predictor of the Athenians' success: the team is undefeated when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 1-5 otherwise. Daniel Surface helped McCarty out on the ground, rushing for 58 yards and one score on only eight carries.
Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Crawfordsville proved: they limited Frankfort to a paltry 2.3 yards per carry. Crawfordsville's run defense has been on the up-and-up: they allowed 4.43 yards per carry earlier this season, but they've only allowed 5.4 on average over their last five games.
Meanwhile, after low-scoring totals in their previous four game, Speedway brought some dynamite into their most recent matchup. They blew past Covenant Christian 40-0 on Friday. The Sparkplugs not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since August 30, 2024 (when they won 47-0).
Speedway's win came from a few key players Crawfordsville will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Logan Moore, who threw for 116 yards and three TDs. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in passer rating (120.5). Mazeed Ishola was another key player, picking up 51 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.
Crawfordsville's win bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Speedway, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-8.
