When it comes to explaining why Columbia lost, one person who can't be blamed is Payshunce Sims. Despite the final result, she scored 20 points. The game was Sims' seventh in a row with at least ten points. Indea Pounds was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Columbia's defeat dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Jefferson Davis County, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 9-1.
