The Mitchell Tigers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their sixth straight loss. They were the victim of a tough 70-48 loss at the hands of Hillcrest. Mitchell was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-14.
Despite the loss, Mitchell still got an impressive performance from Takeria Bailey, who scored 30 points along with six rebounds. Bailey scored a full 62.5% of Mitchell's points, the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Serenitee Rowand, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds.
Mitchell bumped their record down to 1-7 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Hillcrest, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mitchell's homestand continues as they prepare to take on Overton at 6:00 p.m. on December 14th. Overton will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak. Hillcrest will be home for the holidays to greet Fairley on Friday. Fairley's defense has only allowed 28.7 points per game this season, so Hillcrest's offense will have their work cut out for Hillcrest.
