Despite a strong season so far, the Appling County Pirates have seen their luck take a bit of a downturn recently. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 24-14 to Cook, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. Appling County lost against Cook in their previous head to head on Friday, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 24-14 score last time.
Leading Cook to victory were Drew Folsom and Ny'shaun Wallace. Folsom threw for 131 yards and a touchdown, while Wallace picked up 83 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Appling County's defeat dropped their record down to 9-4. As for Cook, the victory (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 11-2.
Appling County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Cook will square off against Columbia at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Columbia's defense has only allowed 13.8 points per game this season, so Cook's offense will have their work cut out for Cook.
