The South Pointe Stallions came tearing into Friday's matchup with 16 straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 35.4 points) and they left with even more momentum. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Catawba Ridge 82-31 at home. South Pointe has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 contests by 21 points or more this season.
Victoria Morris continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 24 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Another player making a difference was JaNyia Cunningham, who almost dropped a double-double on 18 points and nine rebounds.
Catawba Ridge struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as South Pointe pulled down 15 offensive rebounds.
South Pointe's win was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 19-2. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 44.6 points. As for Catawba Ridge, their loss dropped their record down to 5-16.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. South Pointe won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Lancaster at 5:00 p.m. on January 27th. South Pointe has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 845 points over their last 11 matches. As for Catawba Ridge, they will be playing at home against York at 6:15 p.m. on Wednesday. York comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 24 points in their last four games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
