The Elm Creek Buffaloes had already won nine in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 15.9 points), and they went ahead and made it ten on Tuesday. They walked away with a 70-60 victory over Overton. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Elm Creek to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kade Sindt, who scored 14 points along with seven assists and five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Nikk Brumels, who scored 19 points along with three steals.
Overton lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Eli Luther, who scored 25 points along with three steals. Luther hasn't dropped below 17 points for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Brock McCarter, who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds and three blocks.
Elm Creek is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season. As for Overton, they now have a losing record at 9-10.
Elm Creek will square off against the Spartans at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Nebraska (Ansley/Litchfield is ranked 58th, while the Buffaloes are ranked 62nd). As for Overton, they will be playing at home against the Falcons on Tuesday.
