Fountain Lake has won three straight games at home, while Malvern has won three straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Thursday. The Cobras will host the Leopards at 4:30 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.
Fountain Lake is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on Jessieville with a sharp 17-5 victory on Wednesday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.
Meagan Tillery and Ellie Johnson did most of the damage at the plate: Tillery scored two runs while going 3-for-3, while Johnson scored two runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Kinsley Burks, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
Fountain Lake always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .639. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April of 2024.
Meanwhile, Malvern got themselves on the board against ESTEM on Tuesday, but ESTEM never followed suit. They were the clear victors by a 24-0 margin over the Mets. Considering the Leopards have won 13 contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Kendall Watson made a big impact no matter where she played. She pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Watson was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one double.
In other batting news, Malvern let Alexis Jenkins and Elena Bradford run wild. Jenkins went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs, while Bradford went a perfect 4-for-4 with two triples, three RBI, and one run. Those three RBI gave Bradford a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Reese Dedman, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Malvern has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.6 runs on average over those games. As for Fountain Lake, their win bumped their record up to 5-9.
Fountain Lake might still be hurting after the 15-0 loss they got from Malvern in their previous meeting on April 1st. Will the Cobras have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more softball content.
