Baseball Recap: Tuesday's Victory Is Clint's Seventh in Last Eight Outings

Clint won the last time they faced Mountain View and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Lions blew past the Lobos 14-3. The result was nothing new for the Lions, who have now won nine contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Daniel Ochoa spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on eight hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Oliver Chavez, who went 3-for-4 with four stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Mario Pacheco, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two doubles.

Clint always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .639. They are 9-2 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Clint has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 14-11-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.1 runs on average over those games. As for Mountain View, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 12-14 record.

Clint will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Lobos: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
