Softball Recap: North Decatur Wins Going Away Against South Decatur

While North Decatur put up plenty of runs on Monday, the same can't be said for South Decatur. The Chargers blew past the Cougars 13-0. The Chargers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matches by six runs or more this season.

Brooklyn White was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 11 over six innings pitched. Those 11 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBI.

In other batting news, Kendall Hostkoetter was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBI. Emma Schoettmer was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and one run.

North Decatur's win bumped their record up to 7-10. As for South Decatur, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-9 record this season.

North Decatur will have a chance to go back-to-back against South Decatur: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
