The Antietam Mountaineers won the last time they faced the Hamburg Hawks, and things went their way on Thursday too. In a tight matchup that could have gone either way, Antietam made off with a 48-47 win over Hamburg.
Leading Antietam to victory were Julious Williams and AJ Schiefly. Williams scored eight points along with ten rebounds and four blocks, while Schiefly scored 17 points along with three steals. Schiefly is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Denzel Severino, who scored six points along with two steals.
Antietam now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Hamburg, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-12 record this season.
Antietam will head out on the road to face off against Owen J. Roberts at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Owen J. Roberts is out to stop a four-game streak of losses at home. Hamburg will take on Panther Valley at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Panther Valley focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up five last Saturday.
