The East Dragons's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their 11th straight loss. They were outmatched by Archbishop Hoban on the road and fell 74-26. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points East has scored all season.
It was another big night for Jonas Nichols, who scored 19 points along with three steals for Archbishop Hoban. Nichols is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of John Johnson, who scored nine points along with three steals.
East has traveled a rocky road recently having lost 12 of their last 13 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-15 record this season. As for Archbishop Hoban, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-6.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. East is on the road again on Saturday and plays Strongsville at 3:00 p.m. on February 17th. As for Archbishop Hoban, they will square off against Ursuline at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Ursuline is on a three-game streak of home wins, Archbishop Hoban a three-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court.
