The Westside Wolves will be home for the holidays to greet the Heights Bulldogs at 12:00 p.m. on Monday.
Last Friday, Westside took a serious blow against Bellaire, falling 79-50. While losing is never fun, Westside can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 568th, while Bellaire is ranked 203rd).
Meanwhile, Heights scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They really took it to Austin for the full four quarters, racking up a 79-35 victory at home. The victory was a breath of fresh air for Heights as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.
Westside has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-6 record this season. As for Heights, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-12.
Things could have been worse for Westside, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 64-47 loss to Heights in their previous matchup back in February. Thankfully for Westside, Gabriel Alvarez (who scored 22 points along with four steals) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
