The Metro-East Lutheran Knights's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fourth straight loss. They suffered a rough 51-31 defeat at the hands of Bunker Hill. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Metro-East Lutheran of the 36-33 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January of 2023.
Despite the loss, Metro-East Lutheran had strong showings from Kaitlyn Peterson, who scored nine points, and Isabelle McLeod, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds.
Metro-East Lutheran dropped their record down to 3-22 with that defeat, which was their third straight at home. As for Bunker Hill, their win ended a ten-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-21.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Metro-East Lutheran will stay at home for another game and welcome Gibault Catholic at 7:30 p.m. on February 6th. Hopefully Metro-East Lutheran focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 on Saturday. As for Bunker Hill, they will be playing at home against South Fork at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Bunker Hill has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
