Peotone (9-8, 3-4), undefeated over its last five games. In the past week, the Blue Devils won another 3 games, includinga 5-3 victory over Sandwich and a 7-4 win over Paxton-Buckley-Loda.
Peotone went from 340 to 300 in the national rankings since last week after going 3-0 in the past seven days.
Manteno's pitching was especially stingy this week, allowing 27 hits and three walks to lead the league in both categories. On the season, the Panthers have allowed just 148 hits, while striking out 143 batters.
