This season hasn't been kind to the Baldwin Indians, who are still winless after their 17th game. They took a 55-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of Atlantic Coast on Wednesday. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Baldwin in their matchups with Atlantic Coast: they've now lost four in a row.
nikeese doss and Shawn Winchester certainly did their best on Wednesday to try and avoid the loss. doss scored six points along with 11 rebounds and four blocks, while Winchester scored 11 points along with five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Winchester has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Anthony Hitchens, who scored ten points along with nine rebounds and two steals.
Even though they lost, Baldwin smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 22 offensive rebounds. This was only their 12th loss (out of 12 games) when they hit their own glass that hard.
Baldwin's loss was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-17. As for Atlantic Coast, their victory bumped their record up to 2-20.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Baldwin will face off against Bradford at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Bradford is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak. As for Atlantic Coast, they will head out on the road to face off against Oakleaf at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Oakleaf presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Atlantic Coast in Florida (Oakleaf is ranked 114th, while Atlantic Coast is ranked 639th).
