The North Canyon Rattlers won the last time they faced the South Mountain Jaguars, and things went their way on Monday too. North Canyon strolled past South Mountain with points to spare, taking the game 58-41. Given North Canyon's advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 117th, while South Mountain is ranked 260th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Noah Sowunmi was his usual excellent self, scoring 19 points along with six rebounds and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Wyatt Mackay, who scored 15 points along with three steals.
North Canyon has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-8 record this season. As for South Mountain, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-16.
North Canyon's road trip will continue as they head out to face Central at 7:00 p.m. on February 8th. North Canyon has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 671 points over their last nine matchups. South Mountain does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
