Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Goldsboro). They blew past the Wallace-Rose Hill Bulldogs 77-36 on Friday. With the Cougars ahead 40-20 at the half, the contest was all but over already.

Wallace-Rose Hill's loss came despite strong showings from Analeise Rivenbark and Savannah Smith. Rivenbark posted nine points in addition to eight boards and three blocks, while Smith put up nine points. The dominant performance gave Rivenbark a new career-high in blocks.

The win (which was Goldsboro's fifth in a row) raised their record to 9-1. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.2 points per game. As for Wallace-Rose Hill, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Goldsboro Cougars face off against the Wilson Prep Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on December 27th. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Goldsboro has won 11 straight at home dating back to last season, while Wilson Prep won five straight on the road), something that'll have to change. As for Wallace-Rose Hill, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 70-51 loss against Clinton on the 26th.
