The Southwestern Spartans and the Springs Valley Blackhawks will round out the year against one another at 11:45 a.m. on Thursday at. Southwestern comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
Last Tuesday, Southwestern was the victim of a rough 70-46 loss at the hands of Oldenburg Academy. Southwestern has struggled against Oldenburg Academy recently, as their contest last Tuesday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Meanwhile, even though South Spencer scored an imposing 74 points on Wednesday, Springs Valley still came out on top. Springs Valley walked away with an 84-74 victory over South Spencer. The victory was just what Springs Valley needed coming off of a 70-39 loss in their prior contest.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Springs Valley to victory, but perhaps none more so than Deion Edwards, who scored 19 points along with nine rebounds and five assists. The match was Edwards' fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Konner Chase, who scored 20 points along with seven rebounds.
Southwestern's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Springs Valley, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 4-4 record this season.
