It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Braddock Bulldogs can now relate to. They suffered a tough 58-34 loss at the hands of the Falcons on Wednesday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Braddock of the 51-21 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2023.
Braddock's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Anna Rubiera, who scored 15 points along with eight rebounds and four steals, and Yvonne Jebian who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 12 rebounds. It was the first time this season that Rubiera pulled down eight or more rebounds.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Flanagan to victory, but perhaps none more so than Tearra Mortimer, who scored 20 points along with five steals. It was the first time this season that Mortimer scored 15 or more points. D?naela Myers was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 20 points and 23 rebounds.
Braddock's defeat dropped their record down to 14-8. As for Flanagan, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-9.
Braddock does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Flanagan, they will head out on the road to square off against Doral Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Flanagan is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
