Olympic is 0-10 against South Mecklenburg since January of 2020 but things could change on Tuesday. The Olympic Trojans will look to defend their home court against the South Mecklenburg Sabres at 6:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Despite the loss, Olympic saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Chaya James dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten boards. As a matter of fact, that's the most points James has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Arianna Shaw, who posted 12 points.
Even though they lost, Olympic smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in six consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, South Mecklenburg entered their game against Richmond on Thursday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. South Mecklenburg took a 62-53 hit to the loss column at the hands of Richmond.
Olympic will need focus on slowing down Chloe Grant, one of several South Mecklenburg players who made an impact when they last played. She dropped a double-double on 11 points and 15 rebounds. Kaitlyn Hensley was another key player, putting up 12 points and six assists.
Olympic's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. As for South Mecklenburg, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 8-2.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Olympic has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 36.5 rebounds per game. However, it's not like South Mecklenburg struggles in that department as they've been averaging 35.2 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Olympic took a serious blow against South Mecklenburg in their previous matchup back in January, falling 60-31. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Olympic was down 33-13.
