The Alexandria Trojans have been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They fell 57-47 to Carver Collegiate Academy on Saturday.
Alexandria's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Markel Gaines, who scored 14 points. Another player making a difference was Jordyn Johnson, who scored 16 points.
Alexandria's defeat dropped their record down to 17-8. As for Carver Collegiate Academy, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 18-8.
Alexandria will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against St. Mary at 7:00 p.m. Carver Collegiate Academy on the road again on Tuesday and play against Abramson at 6:15 p.m. on January 30th. Abramson will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Louisiana Rankings (they are ranked 312th, while Carver Collegiate Academy is ranked 13th).
