American Heritage is 1-0 against Naples since October of 2022, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The American Heritage Patriots will be playing at home against the Naples Golden Eagles at 7:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
American Heritage had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 27.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They took their matchup at home with ease, bagging a 63-16 win over Stranahan. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 56-8.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead American Heritage to victory, but perhaps none more so than Dia Bell, who threw for 264 yards and three touchdowns while completing 72.2% of his passes. Chance Washington was another key contributor, rushing for 77 yards and two touchdowns on only nine carries.
Meanwhile, Naples was fully in charge on Friday, breezing past Lely 44-7 on the road. Naples' offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.
Shawn Simeon continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 260 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 13.7 yards per carry. Simeon was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 59 yards.
American Heritage has been no stranger to the win column this season, as they've started out with wins in five of their first six contests, giving them a 5-1 record. As for Naples, their victory was their sixth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which bumped their overall record up to 7-1.
American Heritage strolled past Naples in their previous meeting back in October of 2022 by a score of 35-17. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Naples' Isaiah Augustave, who rushed for 144 yards and a touchdown on only 13 carries. Now that he won't be playing on Friday, will it be that much easier for American Heritage to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
