It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the St. John Paul II Panthers ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They snuck past Franklin County with a 38-33 win. The victory was a breath of fresh air for St. John Paul II as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead St. John Paul II to victory, but perhaps none more so than Aliyah Medrano, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds and two steals. Medrano has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Blakely Naumann, who scored seven points along with five rebounds.
St. John Paul II's victory bumped their record up to 4-8. As for Franklin County, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 12-7.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. John Paul II will take on Wakulla at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Franklin County, they will be playing at home against Port St. Joe at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Port St. Joe focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 last Monday.
