If the MaxPreps state rankings hold true, the near future looks bright for Groves. They will look to defend their home turf on Friday against Troy at 7:00 PM. Groves are cruising in on a four-game winning streak while Troy are stumbling in off of four consecutive losses.
Last Friday, Groves put the finishing touches on their 3rd blowout victory of the season. They put a hurting on Athens to the tune of 42-6. Not happy with the 7-6 score at halftime, Groves made a real splash in the second half.
Meanwhile, Troy received a tough blow as they fell 9-26 to Oak Park.
Groves's win lifted them to 4-2 while Troy's loss dropped them down to 1-5. We'll find out if Groves can add another positive mark to their record or if Troy can shake off the defeat and take the spring out of Groves's step.
