Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Stevenson). Everything went their way against the Corbett Cardinals on Friday as they made off with a 24-5 win. Winning may never get old, but the Bulldogs sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.
The team relied heavily on Rebecca Townsend, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March of 2024. Cayden Hulsey-Bible was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base.
Stevenson was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Stevenson's record is now 7-3. As for Corbett, they dropped their record down to 2-3 with the loss, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Stevenson will challenge King's Way Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Corbett, they will square off against Valley Catholic at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
