The North Valleys Panthers will venture away from home to challenge the Wooster Colts at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
North Valleys is headed into the contest having just posted their closest victory since March 11th on Wednesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-6 win over Truckee. The game was the first time the Panthers have beaten the Wolverines on their field since April 1, 2023.

Austin Dozier made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed five innings while giving up four earned runs off six hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. He was even better at the plate, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in doubles (two).
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Brooks Anderline, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Zach Clarke was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-4.
Meanwhile, Wooster got the win against South Tahoe on Wednesday by a conclusive 11-1.
Chris Ballard spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on two hits. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Wooster is 3-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 3-4-1 otherwise.
On the hitting side, Edgar Nunez Montano was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Wooster is undefeated when Nunez Montano posts two or more runs, but 3-5-1 otherwise.
North Valleys has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for Wooster, they now have a winning record of 6-5-1.
Everything went North Valleys' way against Wooster in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as North Valleys made off with a 13-6 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
