Having struggled with four defeats in a row, Hamilton County turned things around against Raines on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Vikings with a sharp 25-5 win. That looming 25-5 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Trojans yet this season.
Kaden Wetherington was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off only two hits. Wetherington was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with six stolen bases, four runs, and one RBI. Those six stolen bases gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Hamilton County got a massive performance out of Makenna Wheeler, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with eight stolen bases and three runs. Aubrey Shehan was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with six stolen bases and four runs.

Jefferson County couldn't beat Rickards last Tuesday even though they stacked four runs on them in the first inning. The Tigers came up short against the Raiders, falling 24-6.
Liria Vargas was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Madison Kelly, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one RBI.
Jefferson County's loss dropped their record down to 1-12. As for Hamilton County, their victory bumped their record up to 5-12.
Wednesday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Hamilton County has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .450. However, it's not like Jefferson County struggles in that department as they've averaged .495. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
