The Highland Prep Honey Badgers won the last time they faced the Scottsdale Preparatory Academy Spartans, and things went their way on Monday too. Highland Prep enjoyed a cozy 56-38 win over Scottsdale Preparatory Academy. Despite the win, that was the fewest points Highland Prep has scored all year.
Highland Prep got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Kohen Hill out in front who scored 14 points along with eight assists and eight rebounds. Those eight rebounds set a new season-high mark for him. Tarrell Green was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with seven rebounds and three blocks.
Several Spartans players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Luke Morgan, who scored 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Will Ryken, who scored 12 points.
Highland Prep has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 4-3 record this season. As for Scottsdale Preparatory Academy, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-9.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Highland Prep will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Mountainside at 7:00 p.m. on December 12th. Mountainside will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Arizona Rankings (they are ranked 286th, while Highland Prep is ranked 134th). As for Scottsdale Preparatory Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Madison Highland Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Madison Highland Prep will be looking to keep their five-game home win streak alive.
